Le CRISTAL Steam Engine~A new design from Fabrice.Bretagne the Anton collection is the le Cristal A new piston valve engine with a Stephenson link reversing system .
this unit requires two servos one for the steam pressure valve and one for the reversing gear

With a revised design on the Stephenson link as in the old system required a set of extra two extra eccentric blocks fastened to the crank this system needed extra machining and could lead to problems with either of the eccentric's slipping and leading to a drive failure .So to get around this they made a solid machined crank with double offset eccentrics two per valve thus eliminating any possibility of slippage
To improve the alignment and rigidity of the crankshaft the base block is made in 5 stages this allows for a very precise alignment of crankshaft .Each crank is also made with the base so as to give an accurate alignment between the two
Always a preoccupation with engines is the tendency to vibrate screws
and nuts lose so on this engine all screw
are made with reversed threads to direction of throw
and where possible link pins with Cclips one both ends .

The unit is composed of a standard CRYSTAL 3,1cc dimensions as above equipped with a displacement lubricator , a boiler, a gas tank and a condenser, .
The whole is installed on a base, the boiler is insulated and piping fitted all mounted on a base plate .
